Calvary Bible Church strives to be a dynamic reproducing congregation that multiplies believing Christ-followers & leaders that connect in groups, that grow significantly in their faith, and that serve our communities through partnerships and the planting of new churches throughout our area.
Community built around small-group gatherings
God made human beings relational in His image; therefore we will seek to build close, caring, spiritually beneficial relationships in small communities throughout the City (Acts 2:46-47).
Active outreach to the unbelieving, the un-churched, and the unconnected
God is passionately concerned about lost people; therefore we will strive to develop creative and God-honoring ways of presenting to as many people as possible a clear and understandable explanation of the gospel of Jesus Christ, both in our local community and around the world (1 Corinthians 9:22-23).
Leadership that empower members to minister
God intends for all of His people to be involved in His Church’s work of disciple-making; therefore pastoral leaders will seek to train and empower the entire congregation for the work of ministry in a spirit of servanthood, graciousness, and transparency (Ephesians 4:11-12; 1 Thessalonians 2:8).
Vital families that model God’s plan for marriage and godly living
Strong families are the foundation of a strong church and a strong society; therefore we will aim to build families upon the standards of God’s Word and seek to model Christ-likeness in our interaction with our family members. We will strive to learn and live by Biblical principles in every area of our daily lives in humble dependence upon the Spirit of God (Ephesians 4:17-24, 5:22-6:1-4).
Authentic worship that passionately exalts the triune God
God desires people to worship Him in spirit and in truth; therefore we will design our public worship services to provide opportunities to vitally and honestly encounter the living God intellectually, emotionally, and spiritually. Because we also recognize that worship encompasses our entire lives and not just corporate worship services, we will strive to live in a way that actively praises the Lord in our day-to-day affairs (John 4:24, Romans 12:1-2).
Relevant teaching and expository preaching of the Word of God
The Word of God is our perfect standard for life and eternity; therefore we will preach and teach it faithfully, relevantly, and practically in our corporate worship services and gatherings (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
Young(er) believers being mentored for ministry and life
The current generation of church leaders bears the God-given responsibility of training the next generation of Great Commission leaders; therefore we will seek to identify and train those God has called to serve as vocational and/or lay leaders in His church, and particularly those whom God has equipped to serve in the ministry of planting new churches (1 Timothy 4:12-16; Titus 2:1-15).
